25 g (1 oz) butter or margarine
I medium onion, skinned and finely chopped
450 g(1 Ib) lean minced beef
25 g (1 oz) fresh brown breadcrumbs
salt and pepper
45 ml (3 tbsp) vegetable oil
1 medium green pepper, seeded and roughly chopped
1 medium red pepper, seeded and roughly chopped
30 ml (2 level tbsp) flour
30 ml (2 level tbsp) soft brown sugar
10 ml (2 tsp) soy sauce
30 ml (2 tbsp) wine vinegar
150 mi (1/4 pint) orange juice
150 ml (1/4 pint) beef stock
cooked rice, to serve (see page 85)
